9 discs, 9 songs, all chosen by you
Your VaultDiscs box comes with the acrylic music player and 9 vinyl discs, but it doesn't come with any songs pre-loaded. We set it up this way on purpose, since a fixed set of songs means you're stuck listening to the same 9 tracks forever. Instead, you pick your own favourites, and you can always swap them out later whenever you feel like a change.
Setup only takes about 5 minutes, and you only have to do it once.
🎥 Setup video
Watch this first, it shows the full process in under a minute:
(This video shows the basic model. Yours will come customised with the band you ordered!)
🔋 Step 1: Charge the box
Plug the box into a USB-C charger for around 2 hours before first use. A full charge gives you up to 8 hours of playback.
💻 Step 2: Connect to your computer
Plug the box into your laptop or PC using the USB-C cable. The box will appear as an external drive with 9 numbered folders (1 to 9). Works on both Mac and Windows, no drivers or apps needed.
🎵 Step 3: Add your songs
Drag ONE MP3 file into each numbered folder.
- Files MUST be in MP3 format (no .wav, .flac, .m4a, .webm)
- Don't add anything else to the folder (no album art, .txt files, etc)
Where to get your MP3s:
- Apple Store (iTunes Store purchases download as files you can use)
- Microsoft Store
- Amazon Music (individual song purchases)
Quick tip: if you'd rather not use these, there are definitely alternate options out there, and a quick Google search for "how to get MP3 files on my computer" will show you them. We can't recommend any specific one, but it only takes about 2 minutes to find.
🔴 Step 4: Stick the NFC chips
Your kit comes with 9 small numbered stickers (1 to 9). These are the NFC chips. Stick each one onto the back of a vinyl disc. The number on the sticker matches the folder you saved the song in.
Example: Sticker #1 on a disc means that disc plays whatever MP3 is in folder 1.
⏏️ Step 5: Safely eject
Before unplugging the box from your computer, safely eject it (right click the drive, then Eject on Windows, or drag to trash on Mac).
▶️ Step 6: Play your music
Unplug the box from the charger, switch it ON, and place a disc on top. It should start playing right away 🎶
Still stuck?
If you run into any issues, just reach out to us with a short video of what's happening and a photo of the folder on your computer showing the MP3. We'll sort it out for you straight away 🙏
